Dévoilée en 1996 au cœur du Nürburgring, la Ferrari 550 Maranello représente alors l’apogée du concept de la berlinette de sport Ferrari, en termes de technologie et de performances. Elle signe également le retour des moteurs avant dans la gamme. Le douze cylindres longitudinal à la sonorité mythique est fort de 485 chevaux. Couplé à sa boîte manuelle, l’auto est propulsée à 100 km/h en 4,4 sec et autorise une vitesse maximale de 320 km/h.

Unveiled in 1996 at the heart of the Nürburgring, the Ferrari 550 Maranello then represented the pinnacle of the Ferrari sports Berlinette concept, in terms of technology and performance. It also marks the return of front engines to the range. The twelve-cylinder longitudinal engine with its legendary sound produces 485 horsepower. Coupled with its manual gearbox, the car is propelled to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and allows a maximum speed of 199 mph.
The car owes its name to its engine capacity, close to 5,500 cm3. The superb design is the work of Pininfarina.
