Dévoilée au public au salon de Genève en mars 1990, la nouvelle 911 Turbo type 964 vient succéder à la 930 Turbo 3.3L "faiseuse de veuve", en conservant sa cylindrée. 3 660 exemplaires et trois années plus tard, la cylindrée sera augmentée à 3.6L. La 964 Turbo 3.6L adopte un style résolument bad boy, avec entre autres un aileron légèrement retravaillé et les splendides jantes Speedline en trois parties issues des RS Cup, qui recouvrent les étriers de frein désormais rouges. La puissance du flat 6 aircooled passe de 320 ch à 5 750 tr/min à 360 ch à 5 500 tr/min, propulsant ainsi l'auto à 280 km/h. Le 0 à 100 km/h est abattu en 4,8 secondes et à l'intérieur, le compteur est gradué jusqu'à 320 km/h.

La 964 Turbo bénéficie des trains roulants triangulés de cette nouvelle génération, ce qui marque une rupture avec 25 ans d'utilisation de barres de torsion. A l'avant, comme à l'arrière, les combinés ressorts-amortisseurs font leur apparition, pour un meilleur guidage. Avec la direction assistée de série, la maniabilité devient exceptionnelle. En outre, la boîte mécanique G50/52 à 5 rapports est excellente. Hormis l'ABS, l'auto ne dispose d'aucune aide mais la précision du train avant et la stabilité à haute vitesse sont deux qualités que l'on peut attribuer à la Turbo.

L'auto que nous proposons à la vente a été commandée avec des options très rares. En premier lieu on remarque la très belle couleur sur demande Cobalt Blue Metallic, un Paint to Sample issu du catalogue de la Porsche 944. L'intérieur tout cuir Magenta vient contraster à merveille avec cette peinture. La seconde particularité de cette auto est l'option 419, qui supprime la banquette arrière au profit d'un compartiment à bagages. Cela vient ajouter beaucoup de cachet et d'originalité à cette auto déjà resplendissante.

Facturée le 28/09/1993, cette sublime Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6L a été livrée par le Centre Porsche Dortmund le 06/04/1994. Son numéro de production est le 174-0240. Régulièrement entretenue et affichant aujourd'hui 79 900 kms, un kilométrage très raisonnable, l'auto est dans un état absolument resplendissant et a bénéficié d'une révision en juillet 2023 par le très réputé Centre Porsche Classic à Gelderland. De nombreux documents d'origine et des factures d'entretien accompagnent cette sublime 964, son historique est connu. La 964 Turbo 3.6L a été produite durant deux millésimes, à seulement 1437 exemplaires et est désormais un modèle extrêmement convoité par les collectionneurs.

Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1990, the new 911 Turbo type 964 succeeded the 930 Turbo 3.3L "widowmaker", while retaining its cylinder capacity. 3,660 cars and three years later, the displacement was increased to 3.6L. The 964 Turbo 3.6L shows off a truly bad boy style, with a slightly reworked spoiler and the splendid three-piece Speedline rims from the RS Cup, which cover the now red brake calipers. The power of the aircooled flat 6 goes from initially 320 hp at 5,750 rpm to 360 hp at 5,500 rpm, thus propelling the car to 280 km/h. 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in 4.8 seconds and in the interior, the counter is now graduated up to 320 km/h.

The 964 Turbo benefits from the triangulated running gear of this new generation, which marks a break with 25 years of use of torsion bars. At the front, as at the rear, combined springs and shock absorbers appear for better guidance. With power steering, handling becomes exceptional. In addition, the G50/52 5-speed manual gearbox is excellent. Apart from ABS, the car has no assistance but the precision of the front axle and the stability at high speed are two qualities of the Turbo.

The car we are offering for sale was ordered with very rare features. First of all, we notice the amazing color on request Cobalt Blue Metallic, a Paint to Sample from the Porsche 944 catalog. The all-leather Magenta interior contrasts wonderfully with this paint. The second very interesting feature of this car is option 419, which removes the rear seats in favor of a luggage compartment. This adds a lot of style and originality to this already sublime car.

Invoiced on 09/28/1993, this Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6L was delivered by the Porsche Center Dortmund on 04/06/1994. Its production number is 174-0240. Regularly maintained and now showing 79,900 km, a very reasonable mileage, the car is in absolutely resplendent condition and benefited from a service in July 2023 by the well known Porsche Classic Center in Gelderland. A lot of original documents and maintenance invoices come with this sublime 964, its history is known. The 964 Turbo 3.6L was produced for two years, only 1,437 examples exist and now it's an extremely coveted car.
